In Dec 2012, I unintentionally discovered Dr. Suradej Pong's hair clinic in a quiet street in Chiang Mai.

My wife encouraged me to make an appointment, so I parked my scooter and luckely got an evaluation of my hair loss and current status right away. Twenty minutes later I had agreed on a transplant within 2 weeks and it has been one of the best decisions of my life.

It's a small private clinic that specializes on one - on-one doctor / patient relationship.

The procedure was literally painfree and the atmosphere very plasant. I was even served a delicious lunch within the 2-step process between harvesting the follicles and implanting them shortly after.

I travel a lot and have used barbers all over the world. Though I have mentioned many times that I got a hair transplant, nobody ever has said that it was noticeable.

It looks completely natural.

Every time I am back in Chiang Mai I stop by at the clinic to say Hello and get a brief evaluation. So without hesitation I would recommend THTC to anyone who is in search of a great and affordable place that makes you look younger and happier.

This review is long overdue. I have a unique perspective, that I think will help others choose the right center for their needs. Firstly, I am a medical doctor in the U.S. and  I have witnessed every specialty and hundreds of surgeons over the last 25 years.

I am particular about sterile technique, infection risk, and surgical technique. Good technique and careful handling of tissue results in a lower risk of infection, faster healing and improved outcomes.

Doctor Pong's Thailand hair transplant center is a first class facility. He is a very skilled surgeon, with excellent dexterity and excellent technique. He performs the surgical stage personally and the attention to detail is obvious. Some places delegate the strip harvest to an assistant surgeon or trainee. If there was a scorecard for surgical technical skill, Dr. Pong is a 10/10.

He has assembled a great team that help him prepare and transplant the grafts. Again, having observed many surgeries, the care provided was a model of efficiency and coordination. They clearly have a high level of experience and offer what I would consider world class service while showing warmth and hospitality.

Aside from the procedure, Dr. Pong presented himself in a professional manner with a true concern for a natural outcome. He performed a very thorough history and wanted to be sure that all non surgical options had been tried. He also addressed any questions from my wife. Dr. Pong set realistic expectations and offered additional options that I might consider going forward. Post operative care was also very good and I was seen daily for three days after the procedure.

I had none to very little pain after each procedure. I only took ibuprofen and acetaminophen for 24 hours. I did not need anything more.  I was given great post operative instructions verbally and in writing. I really was not limited  for sight seeing and non strenuous activity.

About me: I had my first transplant in the US by a very well known doctor. I then had two more by Dr.Pong about 5 years apart.

Do not have any concern or worry about having the procedure performed in Thailand. The experience with Dr. Pong was similar if not better than that in the U.S. I actually preferred combining the procedure with a vacation. Chiang Mai is a relaxing place with nice hotels, good restaurants and interesting sights. I would rather be in Chiang Mai than Bangkok or at home for the post-operative period. There are budget hotels and luxury hotels less than a 10 minute walk from the center. Thailand as a country is a bit of an adventure. So if you are comfortable with that, then travelling to Thailand for a hair transplant procedure can be fun.

As a qualified professional and patient, I can attest to Dr. Pong's outstanding abilities and give him and the Thailand Hair Transplant Center my highest recommendation.

Dr Pong and his staff exceeded my expectations. This was my first 'go-round' with any type of cosmetic surgery. I watched my father's hair thin and recede over the years as he aged, and I noticed the same patterns with my hair.

Dr Pong was very engaging well before I made my trip to Chiang Mai. Once I arrived, we spent time in the morning discussing his strategy and the procedure. I was nervous, but he and his staff made me feel comfortable.

Just as he described - the transplants would mostly fall out - then a few months later they came in as 'whisps' of hair. Within six - nine months the hair thickened and has grown in beautifully. No one has any idea that I had this procedure done - except for those I have told about it.

I highly recommend Dr Pong and his THTC!

The admin responded to the chat very well, gave me advice very well, even though I was in Bangkok, but the clinic is in Chiang Mai, the doctor still gave me advice even though I may not be a customer of the clinic. The problem of distance
