1. We do not perform hair transplants on patients who are HIV Positive.

2. If you suffer from any other medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes mellitus, toxic goiter etc., it must be well controlled by your doctor before you consider a hair transplant. For safety reasons we are unable to perform surgery on patients with high blood pressure, high blood sugar or similar conditions.

3. It is also important that you get plenty of rest and feel relaxed before your hair transplant, therefore we recommend you arrive at least 1 to 2 days prior to your surgery.

4. Before you choose our center for your surgery, please be certain that you have read and fully understand what hair transplantation is all about and that you have total trust in our medical team to perform the procedure for you.

Another important point to keep in mind is that the decision to have your hair transplant surgery done with us should not be based solely on price. Whilst it is true that having a transplant performed by us is significantly less expensive than having the procedure done in most western countries, you should also be aware that Thailand is world class where it comes to providing state of the art medical care and here at THT we cater to patients from all over the world for this reason.

That being said however, it is also important to stress that if you still have any doubts or concerns about our quality, hygiene or any other issues at all, we recommend you consult a reputable doctor in your own country and have your surgery done locally for your own peace of mind.

5. Since genetic hair loss is a progressive condition, hair loss will continue as you age. The full extent of your hair loss is unpredictable and also varies from person to person. As you lose hair, the size of the balding area increases at the same time as the size of the donor hair area decreases. It is therefore important to understand that hair transplantation alone cannot solve everyone’s genetic hair loss problems. Hair transplantation does not stop your remaining hair from falling out. Further hair loss can and most likely will continue to occur after hair transplantation until it reaches the final balding stage.

It is for this reason that as part of our program we recommend all our patients take specific hair-loss medication on a regular basis after surgery in order to prevent further hair loss. If you choose not to take hair-loss medication, be aware that whilst your transplanted hair will continue growing, your existing hair may not and ultimately over time as you lose more of your existing hair the end result will most likely look odd or strange.

6. Please note that THT Center policy requires that payment be made in full on the day of the operation prior to surgery. The payment amount is based on our initial estimate of the number of grafts we expect to achieve on the day. In the event post-op that we obtain less grafts than expected, a refund is calculated proportional to the number of grafts short of the estimate. Alternatively if we acquire more grafts than expected you will be required to pay the additional cost for those extra grafts.
We accept Visa and MasterCard only, but will also accept cash payments in the following currencies; USD, AUD, CAD, NZD, EUR, GBP, HKD, JPY, MYR, SGD and THB. We do not accept checks or other foreign certified funds and also do not provide any finance options.

If you intend to pay by Debit/Credit Card it is important that you confirm prior to your arrival that you have sufficient funds to cover the total cost of your surgery.

7. As many patients have concerns about their appearance in the following days after the procedure, we recommend that you refrain from either having your hair cut or shaving your head prior to surgery. This of course comes down to personal choice, but keep in mind leaving your hair longer does help somewhat to conceal the newly implanted grafts as well as any redness or swelling associated with the operation.

8. Many individuals who think about having a hair transplant procedure done, wonder if the process is going to be painful. While some patients say it isn’t, others do say they feel some degree of pain. Here at THT Center, whilst your comfort during the surgical procedure is extremely important to us, patient safety is our highest priority.

All our hair transplants are performed under a local anesthetic and most patients stay fully awake the entire time. As most procedures take a number of hours to perform, re-injections of anesthetic during the operation are necessary to keep any pain to a minimum.

At this point it is most important to stress that if you are a person with a very low pain threshold, be aware that as with any surgical procedures there are limits to the amount of anesthetic we can safely inject over the course of the operation. We cannot and will not allow anesthetic to reach dangerous levels.

Though 95% of our clients feel little or no discomfort at all during the transplant, there are some people that find the procedure hard to tolerate. If you feel that you fall into this very low pain threshold category and because we will not compromise your safety, you may need to reconsider your options.
